Who we are

This website is operated by Cornerstone Construction, a building and decorating business based in Hereford, Herefordshire, United Kingdom. If you have any question about this policy or about how we handle your information, contact us at cornerstonehereford@gmail.com or 07415 479059.

Information we collect

When you use the enquiry forms on this website we collect:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • your telephone number;
  • the type of work you are enquiring about;
  • the details of your message;
  • any photo or document you choose to attach.

Some information is also collected automatically when you visit. Our website host and the third-party services listed below receive technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information and the pages you view. If you accept non-essential cookies, our advertising measurement provider may also record that you arrived from one of our adverts and that you submitted an enquiry.

How we use your information

  • to reply to your enquiry and prepare a quotation;
  • to arrange and carry out work you ask us to do;
  • to keep in touch with you about your project;
  • to keep business records, including for tax and accounting purposes;
  • to keep the website secure and to reduce spam submissions;
  • where you have accepted non-essential cookies, to measure how well our adverts perform.

We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.

Lawful bases

We rely on legitimate interests (responding to your enquiry and running our business), contract (carrying out work you have agreed to), legal obligation (accounting and tax records) and consent (non-essential cookies and advertising measurement).

Third-party services we use

Because these services process information on our behalf, or receive it as part of delivering the website, your information is not kept solely by us:

  • Web3Forms — receives and delivers the contents of our enquiry forms to our email inbox. This is essential for the forms to work.
  • Google (Google Ads conversion tracking) — measures whether an enquiry came from one of our adverts. This only loads after you accept non-essential cookies.
  • Google Maps — an embedded map of the area we cover. The map only loads after you accept non-essential cookies; Google receives your IP address when it loads.
  • Google Fonts — supplies the typefaces used on this site, served from Google's servers.
  • Our hosting and website infrastructure providers — serve the site and its images, and process standard server request data.

Some of these providers may transfer data outside the UK. Where that happens they are expected to rely on recognised safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry and project records for as long as we need them for the purposes above — usually while we are in contact with you and afterwards for as long as we are required to keep business, tax and insurance records, or for as long as a claim could reasonably arise. When we no longer need information, we delete it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you may have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, to object to certain uses of it, and to withdraw consent where we rely on consent. To make a request, email cornerstonehereford@gmail.com.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Other legal remedies may also be available to you.
